The raincap is part of Hale's exclusive water containment and diversion system. Hale was the first pet door company to offer this feature on its pet doors. It acts as an awning to divert water that may be running down the wall out away from or around the pet door.
Raincaps are optional on door models and on wall models. Whether you need to add a raincap to your pet door or need to replace one that has gotten lost or damaged, the replacement raincap will fit on the exterior frame of any of our door or wall models. They will also fit on a double in glass model but we do not recommend using them in that application as they would interfere with sliding glass doors and sliding screen doors and can be a hazard to legs when the people door is opening or closing.

What type of material is the handle?
Each kennel door comes with a strong, lockable stainless steel handle. Inside the handle is a stainless steel spring that helps keep the latch closed, so your dog can’t push the door open. It’s safe and secure, but still easy to open with one hand. You can also add a padlock or clasp for extra security if needed.
