Muffin’s Halo is a 3 piece must-have device that helps blind dogs transition. Becoming familiar with existing or new surroundings quickly. It starts as a harness wrapped snug around a dog’s neck and torso. The wing attaches to the neck of the harness. The halo attaches to the wing and when placed on the neck of the harness, the halo is just above the eye level.
Now the halo acts as a buffer to safeguard a blind dog’s head, nose, face and shoulders from bumping into hard surfaces. As the halo taps hard surfaces, it sends a signal to the dog alerting them to go in a different direction. They catch on very fast and it is truly amazing to watch their confidence level rise. Wearing the harness also makes them feel cuddled and less anxious.
Material: Lightweight and comfortable, made out of polyester/cotton twill and a stylish easy fit with adjustable Velcro straps. Muffin’s Halo does not hinder a dog’s normal daily activity. They can eat, drink, sleep and play with it on.
Care Instructions For Wing and Harness: Cold water machine/delicate or hand wash and lay flat to dry. No bleach. Halo can be cleaned with a baby wipe or damp cloth. The fabric on Muffin’s Halo is a durable water resistant nylon pack cloth.
How to Measure

Measure the width of your dog’s neck by gently wrapping the measuring tape around the neck, just behind the ears, until it comes together at the back of the head.
TIP
No soft tape measure? Simply cut a 36” (91 cm) piece of string and grab a ruler or yardstick.

Using a soft, flexible seamstress tape measure, locate and measure the girth or widest part of your dog. The harness should fit snug around your dog .
TIP
If using the string method, follow the steps above. Mark the string where it overlaps so you can lay it down flat against the yardstick to determine the length in inches.

Measure your dog’s profile along the side of the face from the tip of the nose to just behind the ear.
TIP
It’s always good to measure a few times to ensure you achieve a consistent result.

How to Assemble
IN YOUR PACKAGE YOU WILL HAVE A HARNESS, A HALO, & WINGS
- Lay the harness on your dog’s back so the top edge is as close to the back of the head as possible, almost behind the ears
- Attach halo to wings by slipping the ends through the holes in the wings and securing them with the velcro flap
- Wrap the velcro straps around the front and underside of the dog and make sure it fits snugly
- Open wings wide and put them as close to the back of the head as possible
- Wrap the wings down around the neck to make sure all the velcro connects to secure the wings to the harness
- Halo should sit at upper-eye / forehead level, be parallel to the floor and extend beyond the tip of the dog’s nose
- The Halo can be adjusted by bending it up or down, or making it wider, to perfectly suit your dog
Care and Cleaning
Muffin’s Halo wings and harness are made of polyester cotton/twill fabric and the halo is a durable, water-resistant vinyl tubing. For the wing and harness, please use a cold water delicate machine wash cycle or hand wash and lay flat to dry. No bleach or dryer. The halo can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.

What type of material is the handle?
Each kennel door comes with a strong, lockable stainless steel handle. Inside the handle is a stainless steel spring that helps keep the latch closed, so your dog can’t push the door open. It’s safe and secure, but still easy to open with one hand. You can also add a padlock or clasp for extra security if needed.

My blind buddy is quite thin so attaching the halo seems a little heavy for him but that is the size we needed for his structure...he measured a size 7 but he is only 60 pounds... It seems to cause him to bend forward though it works better than nothing. I was concerned that the harness would get in the way when he was sleeping but that doesn't seem to be a problem if you have a concern about that,
The harness and halo are easy to put on and remove. Of course he went out and rolled in the yard getting it dirty in the wet grass so we have cleaned it according to instructions and it did not harm it at all...still looks brand new. I would absolutely recommend this halo harness and the only issue we have is his slight build.
